Updates on houses, technology and so much more! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh my—I love the comment: once it goes in the giveaway box, I don't look back. And that is me as well. There are times when I think I should have one last look in the box to see what I am donating this time, and I just can't be bothered. I decided to give it away; I don't need to see those items ever again. Way to go!! It's all going to happen slowly—we can't erase years of accumulation overnight. Baby steps!!!

I have a few updates -- they are mostly for me ...

Double Whammy!!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The good news is that when I looked at my Cherrywood Challenge in the morning, the chalk lines were pretty much gone, so I didn't have to do any further work on it. I trimmed the quilt top, made the two-color binding, and stitched it to the top of the piece. Then I settled in and watched some YouTube videos while hand-stitching the binding in place!

All that's left is to touch up a few spots with markers where the lighter-colored bobbin thread peeked through during the appliqué process, take three pictures, and then submit the entry. I ...

It's a half-square triangle day! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Here's an update on several situations. After a few messages back and forth with M, it seems that if I read her text correctly, the designer will make the veil; it's my job to embroider it!! OK -- I think I can handle that. Thanks for the tips from everyone. Now I just need to find out the timing --- and she's in BC, and I'm here! But that's no issue!

As for the house? We didn't have any leaks yesterday, even though the sun was out. My towel stayed dry all day. I spoke to ...

Drip, drip, drip!!!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I LOVE that others are getting things done as well! And YES—sometimes we don't have the right color thread or the right whatever —but if you look in your stash, you probably have something that will work!!!

Well, we have a problem at our house, and I don't think it's going to be cheap or easy to fix. Remember that ice dam I've mentioned several times? I cannot find the picture I took of the front of our house, but it's considerably smaller than the one I shared with the neighbors the other day ...

Are quilters made of money? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I've thought of a ball launcher for Murphy! I may have to break down and get one, as she is relentless with the ball. We'll just have to aim it so it doesn't go into the pond!

The door lock does NOT need a new battery. I changed it about two months ago, and I've not received notifications. However, I called the number I was given yesterday and got through with barely any waiting. YEAH!!

A technician is coming on Friday. It appears that the door locks and unlocks perfectly with the app. I've been ...

It's good to be back home again! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So the blog title today is from a John Denver song! And it really is good to be back home again, although yesterday was a topsy-turvy day where stuff got done but not as much as I would have liked.

Have you ever noticed how much time you spend following up on things or getting things repaired? Or those errands of life that have to be done? It's crazy!

I have John Denver on my playlist, but since that Sonos speaker is giving me grief, we didn't get to hear the song last week! I've e-mailed the ...

Spring has arrived from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I love Elle's comment about the "screamer" in the spin class. A toddler -- yep -- that's what he reminded me of!

I try to ignore the noises, but sometimes it's tough. But do you love to watch or observe people? I LOVE it! Especially if they are regulars, like those in my spin class. At any class, there might be 25 - 30 people. And I know most of them by sight and a few by name since our names appear on the screen at the start of the class. But amazing how much you can learn about each ...

OFF with her head! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm home! Gosh -- I can't wait until I say that for the last time - wait -- I can only say the last time this month because there are a few future trips in the works. Right now, my last trip of the year is scheduled for October.

The trip home was uneventful; however, I have a bone to pick with airlines in general and perhaps Air  Canada directly. Why do they NOT ENFORCE the size and quantity of carry-on baggage? I get it that no one wants to wait for their bag when they arrive at their destination. Then ...

We almost lost the other dog! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

For the moment, things are fixed here at our house. I should take a picture of the door, but with a couple of layers of duct tape and a piece of cardboard, that front door opens and closes with no issues. However, it must be locked to not pop open on its own, but I'm OK with that. No word from the lock company yet on a replacement part.

And the dishwasher? Well, guess what I found in there. First -- I had to remove the lower rack and the strainer and scoop out the dirty water. Why does the ...

It's all about Murphy! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I want to live where Elle lives! And if we looked at our city by-laws, I'm sure there would be one which states that snow removal of your drive should be on your property -- not in the street. The next time it snows (today), my two neighbors need a lesson on good old-fashioned shoveling with a SHOVEL, not a massive push scoop. Sigh................

I'm praying for light and fluffy! Not wet and heavy! I'm tired of wet and heavy snow. Heck -- I'm tired of snow!

The last of the virtual presentations for SVP is done for ...

Barn Star Sampler -- let's do it! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I am trying to figure out what is happening with the blog. There used to be a link on the page where you could sign up for e-mails, and each day, you'd get an e-mail with the link to the blog. That doesn't seem to be happening, and then I hear from people that they just got an e-mail. Then others say they are no longer getting it. ACK!!! I have no control over that! The link is still there, but it doesn't work -- I should investigate and remove it!

So if you want to ensure you ...
